Unbridled Cheltenham Festival day 2 preview: 66/1 fancy in the Champion Chase plus will Majborough jump well?

The Queen Mother Champion Chase is the feature race on day two of the Cheltenham Festival and the Unbridled duo of Matt Chapman and Paddy Brennan have made their picks.

Willie Mullins' Majborough is the horse to beat, having impressed at the Dublin Racing Festival last month, but his jumping has been called into question by a few pundits, including Brennan.

He faces nine rivals, with the main challenge coming from Dan Skelton's L'Eau du Sud and stablemate Il Etait Temps.

Speaking on the Unbridled podcast, Brennan said: "I think Majborough needs a bit of rain. There are people out there who see him as a banker but don't forget he won on heavy ground.

"I just think L'EAU DU SUD is coming here with a better preparation, having been freshened up, and he'll love the ground.

"He's in great form at home and I'll stick with him at the prices.

"If they're riding to win, they'll have to keep an eye on Majborough, but if Willie Mullins' horse makes one mistake, I'd be jumping right upsides him.

"Majborough is his own biggest danger."

It will be no surprise to regular followers of Unbridled to learn that Chapman disagrees with his co-host.

"I think MAJBOROUGH will win but I was also wondering about LIBBERTY HUNTER at a massive 66/1. It seems to me that there's going to be a horse at a big price hitting the frame.

"Captain Guinness has been here before and done rather well in this race - the winner in 2024.

"If the Majborough that turns up at the Dublin Racing Festival turns up here, the race is over.

"He sometimes whacks a fence too hard but he doesn't fall."
